BT TM-7 Paintball Gun - Tactical Revolution

BT TM7 Paintball Gun

BT Paintball has released woodsball-related paintball guns and accessories since it's conception a few years back. Their latest offering, the BT TM-7, could be the best thing to come out of the BT factory yet. The TM-7's submachine gun shell is very durable and just screams scenario paintball. The adjustable, collapsible stock functions smoothly with a slight lever push. You'll notice that there are no visible airlines running outside the gun. Internal airlines are a great idea. They not only keep the lines safe and secure, but adds to the realism of the marker. The body houses many tactical rails that can be used for adding accessories such as a flashlight, laser, scope and grip. The side rails are perfect for lighting, while the bottom rail sports a collapsible grip that is adjustable along the length of the bottom rail. The top rail runs the length of the receiver halves and is perfect for adding a top red dot or sniper scope. The internals are borrowed from the tried and true Invert Mini. The efficiency and firing rate of this gun out of the box is simply amazing.

Will it accept CO2? Sorry, BT recommends only using a Compressed Air Paintball Tank to avoid damaging the internals. The grip frame is equipped with an eternal 4 position adjustment switch. The positions include safety, Semi-Auto, 3 NXL Full-Auto and PSP Burst. It offers true 'switch on the fly' mode selection requiring no tools. The break beam eye electronically connects the feedneck with the trigger. The eye system detects the presence of a paintball in the marker which helps reduce ball breaks and providing the user maximum rates of fire. The regular on the TM-7 Paintball gun keeps the air pressure within usable range for the proper firing. It is adjustable at the front of the reg using a 3/16" allen wrench. BT recommends that you never adjust the pressure over 200 psi. Under the gun in the back is a small compartment that houses the velocity adjustment. The board/firing mode adjustment is pretty straightforward. The manual does a great job of walking the user through the programming sequences. Once you learn some basic functions, you can refer to the included charts to quick reference the settings. For a milsim gun, the TM-7 is highly programming. One feature of the TM7 that we really like is the trigger adjustment. The trigger can be adjusted for trigger activation, forward movement, trigger return spring tension and rear movement range. We found the factory trigger settings to work quite well and should suit the average player. The TM-7 gun kit includes the gun, barrel, manual, parts kit and barrel cover.

BT TM-7 Field Test

Air'd up with a 68/4500 draxxus and a Halo B loaded with Evil paintballs, we let the TM7 paintball gun rip in all modes. The operation is smooth especially in the auto and ramping modes with much less 'kick' than some guns. This is related mostly to the lower operating pressure of the TM7. The difference between the mechanical sear activated egrips and those sporting the Hall Effect sensor trigger is amazing in our opinion. Less mechanical parts also means less breakdown on the field. The Hall Effect Triggers do not have an activation switch which is a big plus. Distance was suprisingly good from such as small package! It was as good, if not better, than our A5's and X7's running 14-16" barrels. Accuracy was better than most, allowing a nice tight groupings at about 60 feet. Again, very impressive for a smaller gun out of the box. It has a very similar feel to the Invert Mini from which it borrows most of it's technology from.

I think it's safe to call the BT TM-7 a tournment level marker in a scenario shell. If you're looking for high performance in the woods, look no further. Recommended upgrades include a coil remote line. The smaller packaged TM-7 felt a little awkward with the tank mounted directly to the gun. Using the remote line takes a substancial amount of weight off the gun, increasing your response time. Stop by our TM7 Parts category, we'll getting new stuff in weekly. The latest, top-selling mod for the BT TM-7 paintball gun is the TechT Paintball MRT high performance bolt.
