Top Tippmann A5 Parts - Most Popular A5 Mods!

The Tippmann A5 Paintball Gun is the hottest selling scenario paintball gun on the market today. More A5 parts are on the market than any other paintball gun available today. The possibilities are truly endless. We always get a number of questions regarding the best Tippmann A5 upgrades. Choosing the right combination of parts is also important in order to make performance gains. This article will shed some light on upgrading your A5 by offering a few recommendations on how you can get the most bang for your buck.

Tippmann A5 Egrip - There are 3 A5 models offered today: the Basic Semi-Auto, the Response Trigger and the Electronic E-Grip. You can purchase the A5 in any version equipped at the factory or upgrade or switch to another version at a later time. The A5 E-Grip upgrade is probably the most popular upgrade we offer for people who own the basic A5 model. Why? It offers the most performance gain for the money. Not only are you able to greatly increase the rate at which the marker can fire, but optional firing modes are available as well. The firing modes include Semi-Auto, Auto-Response, Full-Auto, 3 Shot Burst and Turbo Firing. The rate of fire boosts up to 30 bps. Once you own the Egrip, further board upgrades are available including the APE A5 Electronic Boards. The APE boards offer further firing mode parameters allowing you to tweak your settings using infinite combinations. At the time of writing this article, Tippmann has released news that they are producing an A5 Selector Switch E-Grip Trigger Upgrade. This upgrade is borrowed technology from the X7 in which you can externally switch firing modes. Also the internal mechanics will change as well. The Selector Switch E-Grip uses a hall-effect magnetic mechanism for smoother functioning and less mechanical parts. The new E-Grip will prove to be one of the top Tippmann A5 Parts in the future.

A5 Paintball Barrel - The A5 uses an special barrel thread specific to the A5. Most manufacturers make barrel models with the A5 thread. A barrel upgrade is usually one of the first choices people make because of the performance gain offered. Barrels such as the Tippmann Flatline and Tippmann Straightline barrel are two of the most popular A5 barrels we sell. These two barrels offer substantial accuracy and distance gains over the 9" stock. The JJ Ceramic barrels are a budget-minded option for those that want better accuracy while staying under $40. The JJ Ceramic is a non-profiled barrel so it's popular among A5 owners that want to add a shroud or handguard to their gun creating a more tactical, military look.

Cyclone Feed Upgrades - Increasing the rate of fire of the Tippmann A5 may be capped by the loading capacity of the cyclone feed system. Having a trigger that can fire at 30 bps is pointless if your loading system is capped at a much lower rate. Mods such as the cyclone parts offered by TechT Paintball allow A5 owners to reduce the operating pressure of their loading system. TechT also offers a replacement option for the plastic ratchet inside the cyclone. Replacing this ratchet with the TechT aluminum Vortex mod allows your cyclone to cycle faster and virtually eliminates cracks and breaks due to extreme rates of fire. By using the TechT paintball mods, your cyclone feeder will be more efficient, reliable and quicker than stock. Even the Squishy Paddle upgrade helps to ensure safe delivery of sensitive or brittle paint into the A5 receiver.

Compressed Air Paintball Tank - Although not a specific 'A5 accessory', the Tippmann A5 is equipped to use Nitrogen or Compressed Air right out of the box. Compressed air lacks all the negative aspects of using CO2 like freeze-ups, velocity drop offs and general inconsistency. When you're trying to upgrade a gun for higher performance, using CO2 may limit the rest of the upgrades you've made. High rates of fire will not allow the liquid CO2 to convert to a gas to power the marker. The likely result is liquid CO2 in the gun's internals followed by freeze-up and shot drop-off. Using compressed air removes these issues because an HPA tank only holds air, no conversion is necessary. The only limiting factor may be the refill rate of the regulator. Most well-known tank manufacturers like PMI, Draxxus and Crossfire make quality units that will provide the proper air support to even the highest rate of fire paintball guns.

Properly upgrading a paintball marker for increased performance is more than just buying parts and throwing them on. Picking the proper components in relation to one another will guarantee that you get the most out of each upgrade, taking your gun and play to new levels. Have a question? Shoot us an email or give us a call and a rep can assist you on purchasing the right component for your upgrade.
